I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I received my training at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpinteria. I have been in practice since 1998. I have extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of clinical problems including anxiety-related disorders, grief and loss, depression, eating disorders, relationship concerns, problems related to low self-esteem, as well as addictions.
I also treat autism and related disorders, obsessive compulsive problems, bipolar illness, ADHD and behavior problems in adolescents. I have completed training in Psychoanalysis through the Arizona Center for Psychoanalytic Studies, and have trained in Mentalization Based Treatment, as well as DIR (Developmental, Individual Differences, Relational) for the treatment of autism. I teach infant and child development courses. I also teach courses to parents and other therapists in the community.
My primary orientation is neuropsychological, developmental, cognitive and psychoanalytic.
I am also an adjunct faculty member with at the level of Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. In this capacity, I teach psychiatric residents.
